The coast of Terrasini, which extends from the beach Ciucca, to another beach, SanCataldo, is mixed, alternating between a high rocky coves and steep cliffs overlooking the sea. Terrasini is located close to the natural reserve of Capo Rama, established by the Sicilian Region in June 2000 and entrusted the management of WWF Italy. The areaof the promontory was already identified in 1968 by the City of Terrasini, such as"habitat of inestimable value. " The promontory of Capo Rama has been included in the exclusive list of "Geosites" Italians. I "geosites" are locations of significant geological interest of high natural value and important witnesses to the history of Earth. They make"special" sites and geographic areas in which they are inserted to their specificphysical, morphological, climatic and structural. In terms of wildlife, the area of CapeRama hosts the fauna of rocky shores. The reserve is located along the migratory routesand during periodic trips remain for some species undisturbed on the reef: in the springbefore they reach the nesting areas and in the fall when they return to wintering areas.You can spot many species of reptiles, the presence of gulls (Larus michaellis), Alpine Swift (Apus apus), hats (Galerida cristata) and even kestrels (Falco tinnunculus)
